Tverdovsky’s “Correction Class” won the “Golden Star” Automatic translate

MARRAKESH. The winner of the Golden Star, which is the main prize of the 14th International Moroccan Film Festival, was the Russian film Correction Class directed by Ivan Tverdovsky. The judging committee was headed by the famous French actress Isabelle Huppert.

In the nomination "Best Actor" Benjamin Lutsk won the victory for his work in the Swiss film "Schrig", the best female role was recognized by the play of Clotilde Esme in the film "The Last Hammer Hit". The winner of the festival’s special prize was the film “Shrig” directed by Simon Jacques. The prize for the best production was awarded the picture "labor of love" by Indian director Aditya Vikram Sengupta.

Earlier, Tverdovsky’s film received the Grand Prix of the XXII Festival of Russian Cinema in Honfleur (Festival du Cinema Russe). In addition to the main award, the picture won the audience’s prize and the prize of Francois Chalet in the category “Best Screenplay”. Actors Nikita Kukushkin and Philip Avdeev who played in the film received awards in the nomination "Best Actor".

In Tverdovsky’s film “Correction Class”, the story is about a wheelchair girl who, after many years of home schooling, is transferred to a special correctional class in an ordinary educational school. There she has to feel all the cruelty of the world around her, as well as to meet her first love.

It is worth noting that the Correction Class also won the Grand Prix at the 24th International Film Festival of East European Cinema in Cottbus, for the Best Actress and Best Director awards at the Pacific Pacific Meridian International Film Festival and the Grand Prix of the Competition East of West”Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. In addition, the film was awarded a special award "For Human Values" and was awarded the audience prize in the category "International Competition" at the Film Festival in Thessaloniki.
