LIPETSK. On December 21, the closing ceremony and awarding of the winners of the IX festival of Russian cinema "Lipetsk Choice" took place in the regional Palace of Culture.

During the six festival days (from December 16 to 21), more than 16 thousand residents of Lipetsk and regional centers attended the screenings of new Russian cinema. The chairman of the jury, People’s Artist of Russia Viktor Merezhko, in his closing speech, noted that all the films participating in the festival were at a high professional level. So, in the nomination "For the best feature film", the main prize was awarded to the director of the film "White Yagel" Vladimir Tumaev. This film tells about the life of four Nenets in the Far North in the harsh tundra, about their traditions and the first youthful love of one of the heroes.

The film “Another Day” directed by Oksana Bychkova, who received this year the jury prize at the international film festival in Rotterdam, also received an award in the category “Fiction film”.

In the category "For Best Actress", the award went to 12-year-old debutant Victoria Lobacheva, who played one of the main roles in the film "I Will Not Return" about the life of two girls who grew up without parental love and affection. The prize for Best Actor was received by 24-year-old actor Nikita Kukushkin, who played the emotional young man Misha in the film Correction Class directed by Ivan Tverdovsky.
