BERLIN. The tenth anniversary Week of Russian cinema begins its work on November 26 in Berlin. The opening film will be the debut of the film "Star" directed by Anna Melikyan. Traditionally, screenings will be held at the Russian House of Science and Culture and at the cinema in Friedrichshain.
According to the organizers of the event, a special program has been prepared for the opening of the anniversary Week of Russian cinema - live music from Dutch DJs, modern video art and a new design. In particular, the guests will be presented with a futuristic video art installation of the famous artist, Kandinsky Prize winner - Alexei Belyaev-Gintovt.
“But the highlight will certainly be the screening of Anna Melikyan’s film“ The Star ”- one of the most original films of the year, in which women’s voices sound with renewed vigor, and heavy topics are told with unusual lightness and humor,” the organizers of the Russian Film Week emphasized.
In addition to the aforementioned film, the festival program included films: “Correction Class” by Ivan Tverdovsky, “Boys” Renat Davletyarov, “Son” Arseny Gorchukov, “Another Year” by Oksana Bychkova, “Test” by Alexander Kott, “Poddubny” by Gleb Orlov, “Last” summer ”by Evgeny Zvezdakov,“ Fugitives ”by Rustam Mosafir and the film“ Everything and At Once ”by Roman Karimov. Also, well-known Russian filmmakers will take part in the Russian cinema week: directors Gleb Orlov, Mikhail Segal, Arseny Gorchukov, Oksana Bychkova; actors Alexey Veselkin, Alexander Pal, Natalya Pavlenko and others.
The week of Russian cinema in Berlin is held by Interfest in collaboration with the Berlin agency Interkultura Kommunikation with the support of the Russian House of Culture and Science in Berlin and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. Traditionally, the event will be held under the patronage of the Russian Ambassador to Germany Vladimir Grinin and the ruling Mayor of Berlin Klaus Wowereit. The Russian film festival will end on December 3.
