Russian-Ukrainian animated film festival kicks off in Moscow Automatic translate
MOSCOW. On September 29, the 21st Krok International Animation Film Festival opened in the capital’s Cinema House. According to tradition, the film festival is held alternately in Russia and Ukraine aboard a cruise ship, this year will sail from Moscow and will visit Tver, Myshkin, Uglich, Tutaev, Kostroma and Yaroslavl.
During the opening ceremony of the festival, the latest works of famous masters of animated films were shown - Anatoly Lavrenishin (Ukraine), Konstantin Bronzit (Russia), Mauro Corraro (Switzerland), Igor Volchek (Belarus) and others.
The festival of animated films “Krok” is dedicated to the work of film school students and film debutants. About 900 entries from animators from 50 countries were accepted to participate in the festival. As a result of the work of the selection committee, 140 paintings from 37 countries were allowed to participate in the competition.
In addition to the competition, the festival program includes master classes and retrospectives of the leading masters of animated films - the famous Israeli director Gil Alcabets, the famous Russian Yuri Norshtein, as well as Frederick Buck, the Canadian animation classic, twice winner of the Academy Award, who passed away this year. A performance by the Dutch director Adrian Lokman with a lecture “Experimental 3D computer animation: How not to fall asleep” and a retrospective show “On the 95th anniversary of VGIK and the 90th anniversary of animation training” are expected.
The Krok film festival is held with the support of two countries - Ukraine and Russia, the organizing committee consists of an international team of animators, which includes the French, Americans, Latvians, Swiss, Portuguese, Belarusians, Russians and Ukrainians. The closing and awarding ceremony of the winners of the animated film festival will be held on October 5 in Yaroslavl at the Youth Palace.
