NIZHNY NOVGOROD. Preparations have begun for the new season at the Nizhny Novgorod Drama Theater. The traditional gathering of the troupe was conducted by Boris Kainov, the director of the theater. The post of the chief director is still vacant after leaving Vadim Danziger’s theater in late May. He led the theater for just eight months.

In an interview with reporters, Boris Kainov said that while the theater will work without the main director, and the art council will resume its repertoire policy, which has resumed its activity in the new season. Leading actors of the theater will participate in the selection of young actors, determine the readiness for the premiere of new performances.

According to the director of the theater, he believes that in the past season both successful works and the average level were released. The upcoming season should become brighter. There is a lot of work ahead, as the theater’s repertoire will be replenished with five premiere performances.

The first premiere will be shown to Nizhny Novgorod on September 18 - the day the season opens. This will be the classic comedy “Krechinsky’s Wedding”, staged by the Moscow director Valery Sarkisov, whose work is well known to fans of the Nizhny Novgorod drama. In the performance, viewers will see the most remarkable artists of the theater.

The next premiere is scheduled to be shown in late November. Its director will be Alexander Suchkov, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. The name of the performance is not announced, it is obvious that you have to wait until the announcement of the premiere date.

Rehearsals of the play, which received the working title "Triptych", based on the works of famous playwrights, will begin in December. The famous director from Moscow, Rodion Ovchinnikov, will work on it. At the same time, there will be rehearsals of the French comedy "God of Massacre." The name of the director has not yet been called.
