KALININGRAD. Theatricals of the city got a unique opportunity, starting from April 25, almost a week, to see the international version of the famous tragedy "Romeo and Juliet." Each of these performances can be considered premiere, because in each of the productions, the actors will create images of various characters.

In one version of the play, all the characters in the Capulet family will be played by Russian actors, characters from the Montecchi family will appear as actors from the Polish city of Elbong, and Lithuanian artists from the Klaipeda theater will take the stage in the roles of Prince Escal and his entourage. The main feature of the performance is the use by each group of actors of their native language.

The next day, the actors will change roles, presenting to the audience in their performance already other characters of the play. This performance was the finale of a project created as part of a cooperation program between three countries, united by common borders - Poland, Lithuania and Russia. The project was called "Multicultural dialogue of theaters."

Actors from Kaliningrad, Klaipeda and Elbong took part in the creation of the play. The directors of this most original embodiment on the stage of Shakespearean tragedy were four directors from different countries. According to the author of the idea of ​​this joint work of multilingual actors, M. Shedler, who became the organizer of the project, thanks to the unique setting, he gained enormous experience from the cooperation of various theater schools.

The performance “Romeo and Juliet”, which took place on April 25th, was played only by Russian actors. Viewers will see the following performances in the form they saw in Lithuania and Poland. And on April 29 the most original version will be shown - the actors will change characters during the performance.
