MOSCOW. The first work of the young director Ilya Rottenberg at the Theater of Nations was the staging of the play "Jeanne" based on the play of the popular playwright Yaroslava Pulinovich. Continuing to experiment with new drama and involving young directors in the theater, Yevgeny Mironov himself invited Ilya Rottenberg to stage the play.

The main role of the performance was received by the consent of the actress, well-known and loved by the audience of Ingeborg Dapkunaite. The Russians Dapkunaite is better known for film roles, however, the actress has vast experience in the theater. She participated in the early performances of the famous director Eymuntas Nyakroshyus, performed on the stages of theaters in Europe and America.

However, on the Moscow stage, the role in the play “Jeanne” for Dapkunaite became a debut. The actress was invited more than once to various theater projects, but her participation in them did not take place. True, once Ingeborg participated in a poetic performance on the stage of the Polytechnic Museum, where she read poetry by the poetess Vera Pavlova.

The play Pulinovich, based on the play “Jeanne”, in the original has the title “Next will be a new day”, somewhat echoing the motto of the heroine of the famous novel about Scarlett O’Hara. Ilya Rottenberg says that this performance is the story of a successful modern business woman. However, this is not a story about how successfully the life of the heroine has developed. In the course of events, it becomes clear how high the price of achieved success is.

Rottenberg built the play so that the episodes dynamically follow each other, the character of each character is worked out to the smallest detail. However, the image of the heroine Dapkunaite, so lively that the rest of the characters look like a backdrop on which lively, successful and, at the same time, unhappy Jeanne.
