MOSCOW. On November 8, a creative evening of the famous writer Vladimir Voinovich took place in the artistic salon of the capital’s House of Actor. The meeting with the writer was organized by the "Playwright Club", the evening was led by actor Sergei Kokovkin.

The main theme of the creative meeting was the presentation by the author of a new work - a play entitled "The New Tribunal." This work is a more modern version of the already famous play "Tribunal", written in 1984, and in 1989 staged by Valentin Pluchek in the Moscow theater of Satire.

According to Vladimir Voinovich, the play, written many years ago, has lost its relevance, as it was based on the realities of life under the Soviet regime. The Soviet power ended - the play, speaking about the problems of those years, was outdated.

However, the author was sorry for the idea, the technique on which it was built. And so, after many years, a new play was written, like the previous one, dedicated to the judicial system, but with a new plot.

Like most of Voinovich’s works, his new work is written in a satirical genre. The protagonist of the play “The New Tribunal” was a judge who clearly had a personal interest in the trial. It is possible that a new play will appear in the repertoire of the Satire Theater. Although the author noted that Alexander Shirvindt had not yet managed to get to know the play, he might not like it.

During the meeting, the writer said that recently at the MOST student theater rehearsals of another of his new work for the stage began - the comedy “White BMW”. Its action takes place today.
