Veterans of labor became participants in the documentary performance of the KnAM theater Automatic translate
KOMSOMOLSK-ON-AMUR. For more than 25 years, unusual performances have been created by the acting team of the KnAM Theater. The new project of the theater is designed to preserve the memory of the past of the city where they live. This is not a grand story, edited and embellished, but the fate of people intertwined with the history of the city built by their hands.
As part of the project, the actors created the documentary performance “Generation of Pride and Glory”, the premiere of which was recently shown to the audience. The plot of the production is based on biographies of a resident of Komsomolsk, whose working life was dedicated to the city that became their homeland.
The creators of the play believe that the real history of the city exists as long as at least one witness of the events is alive. Along with the outgoing generation of witnesses of the era, the story is archived, and then, if necessary, simply copied, and some facts simply go into oblivion.
The director and director of the theater, Natalya Frolova, who staged the play, speaks about the important task of the young generation - to manage to ask questions to people representing the outgoing generation. After all, those who were born later can only penetrate at a time when the city was just starting to be built.
The performance was staged in a peculiar way - on the stage, in the scenery of the old, retro-style furniture, apartments, there are participants in the production. Five labor veterans of various professions, whose biographies are represented by small videos, watch them with the audience.
The fate of the participants in the performance is a reflection of the fate of an entire generation, thanks to hard work and faith in the future, who managed to overcome the difficulties of building a new city. The creators of the play believe that the story that came to life on the stage of the theater will allow viewers to better understand the past.
