The premiere of the Volgograd Youth Theater is dedicated to the Battle of Stalingrad Automatic translate
VOLGOGRAD. On January 30, the Youth Theater showed the audience the premiere of the play staged by the playwright from Slovakia Ivan Bukovchan “Before the Rooster Crows”. The theater team dedicated the performance to the celebration of the seventieth anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad, which will be celebrated on February 2.
The genre of this performance is not defined unambiguously - it can be called a drama, psychological thriller, military detective story. One thing is important - its plot makes the audience in the hall listen intently to every word of the heroes of the performance, although its action takes place already far from our days.
The tragic story told in the play takes place in a small town occupied by fascists in Slovakia. A dead German soldier was found on his street, ten random passers-by were arrested for this, who should be shot if the culprit of the crime is not found by morning.
The situation becomes even more tragic when the hostages become aware that they must decide for themselves which of them will be shot in the morning for the perfect murder of a soldier. In this emergency situation, the characters of people are revealed completely unpredictably.
Everyone who fell into the gloomy basement of the prisoners is almost unconnected with each other, although the town is small, many of its residents are familiar with each other. Hostages of different ages, different social status. However, the current situation shows them character traits that they themselves did not suspect.
The majority of the troupe and two actors, A. Maslennikov and O. Blokhin, from other theater groups participate in the play. The director, artistic director of the theater Vladimir Bondarenko, says that plays like this work are rare, each character is unique in it.
