Piano Marathon - a festival of open-air music Automatic translate
YEKATERINBURG. The Yeltsin Center hosts a piano marathon.
When the muses speak, the guns are silent. If music could stop all wars and conflicts, it would sound non-stop in all corners of the globe. Piano marathons, the idea of which was born in the Sverdlovsk Children’s Philharmonic, is the first step in this direction. The current non-stop is already the fourth, record-breaking in duration and number of announced pianists. 25 hours, two and a half hundreds of participants, the absence of restrictions on age, the choice of the work performed and the level of ownership of the instrument. The venue is the open area of the Yeltsin Center in Yekaterinburg City. The organizers took care of the convenience of pianists and music lovers who dared to spend the whole night playing accompaniment of piano music. The marquee above the instrument is for the former, warm blankets are for the latter.
Such a marathon is not the only project of the country’s first children’s philharmonic society. The “Garland of Goodness” charity event to help children with special needs, the International Festival “Earth is our common home”, choral meetings are just a part of the extensive list of events taking place. Within the walls of the Philharmonic created the conditions for six children’s groups, actively touring in Russia and abroad. The reconstructed building has 2 concert halls, rehearsal rooms, private television and two ateliers.
The marathon was opened by composer Alexander Pantykin, the founder of the Light Opera business, winner of the Golden Mask Prize. Among the famous participants - one more winner of the main theater prize Boris Nodelman, Eugene Gorenburg, Alexander Nevler, Arkady Klein. The democratic atmosphere and the sensation of a musical festival, which will end on June 11 at 13:00 local time, inspire thoughts of holding another marathon next year.
