"Iolanta" for the first time on the stage of the Irkutsk Philharmonic Automatic translate
IRKUTSK. The premiere of "Iolanta" performed by the artists of the Center Galina Vishnevskaya.
The last opera by Tchaikovsky was completed in 1892, shortly before the death of the composer. “Iolanta” was not installed earlier in Irkutsk. The opportunity to get acquainted with the lyrical masterpiece of Peter Ilyich was presented thanks to the long-standing cooperation of the Irkutsk Philharmonic with the Galina Vishnevskaya Center. "Iolanta" is the third opera performance shown by Moscow artists after the Tsar’s Bride and Ruslan and Lyudmila. On February 21, residents of Irkutsk were able to see the concert version of "Iolanta", in which 23 soloists of the Center were involved.
Galina Pavlovna was very kind to this opera, considering it divine. She performed the title part repeatedly. The 1984 record kept her magnificent duet with the famous Swedish tenor Nikolai Gedda. The first production of the opera at the Vishnevskaya Center was carried out in 2006 and turned out to be one of the performances most loved by the audience. In 2015, the play again graced his poster. Conductor Dmitry Yurovsky did a great job on his return to the stage, attracting talented young soloists and the new orchestra of young musicians created in 2013 by Olga Rostropovich.
The premiere is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the singer. The inevitable conciseness of the concert version is a peculiar embodiment of the plan of Galina Pavlovna. The dramatic story of a girl blind from birth, who had seen through the great power of love, in her opinion, did not need additional effects. Great music and an emotionally rich plot can fully compensate for them. In the main parties, the audience saw Ekaterina Petrova, Peter Sizov and Vladislav Popov.
