MOSCOW. In the Tsvetaeva’s House-Museum, a new arrival is the correspondence of Marina Ivanovna and Sergey Efron with the Bogengardt family.

75 years have passed since the tragic departure from the life of Tsvetaeva. All the previously unknown documents associated with her name are of great value. On the day of memory of the great poet - Tsvetaeva committed suicide on August 31, 1941 - the museum became the owner of epistolary relics that will help shed light on previously unknown circumstances of the life of Marina Ivanovna and her family. We are talking about 25 letters written by fellow soldier Sergei Efron Vsevolod Bogengardt and his wife Olga Nikolaevna, nee Countess Stenbock-Fermor.

The mercy sister and second lieutenant, the head of the ambulance train, having met during the First World War, became a reliable support not only for each other. Efron and Bogengardt had a long-standing friendship - since student days and service in the Volunteer Army. Kind and helpful people helped Tsvetaeva’s family during the period of emigration, promoted the placement of Ariadne’s daughter in a Russian boarding school for refugee children, and equally warmly cared for their native and adopted children.

After the forced departure from abroad in connection with the “Reyss case”, the arrest of her husband and daughter, the position of Tsvetaeva, who found herself in the status of the wife of an enemy of the people, became unbearable. After leaving for the evacuation, it only worsened. Loneliness, lack of money, domestic disorder, concern for his son, persistent thoughts that it would be easier for him to survive without her.

A stranger to everyone, restlessness, a dead end. If you find such devoted and disinterested friends as Bogengardt, next to Marina Ivanovna at her worst hour, the tragedy in Yelabug could not have happened. Rare documents were purchased from their descendants living in France. The former owner of the letters - Alexander Scriabin, cousin of the composer Scriabin, was married to the daughter of the Bogengardt Olga Vsevolodovna. Letters will be one of the main exhibits of the upcoming exhibition dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Tsvetaeva.
