The literary festival "Petroglyph" was held in Karelia Automatic translate
The III International Literary Festival "Petroglyph", which was held in the Republic of Karelia from July 24 to 30, ended with the determination of the winners of the contest "Petroglyph-2015". So, the winners in the main category “Poetry” were Alexandra Zaitseva from Novosibirsk and the writer from Petrozavodsk Sergey Lvovich with their common story “Metelitsa”. The event was held under the auspices of the regional program of the Year of Literature in Russia.
The organizers of the literary festival note that Petroglyph is a “nomadic” cultural event, as it travels from year to year to different parts of Karelia. So, this year the festival was held on the island of Luotosaari in the rune-singing village of Haikol in the Kalevala region, which is now being revived by the descendants of the writer Ortye Mikhailovich Stepanov, whereas last year the event took place in the village of Kondoberezhskaya on Lake Onega.
According to the catch of the organizers of Petroglyph, the main purpose of its holding is to attract public attention to the cultural heritage of the North: its literature, music, history, natural wealth of certain regions of the republic, as well as the development of ecological and cultural tourism in Karelia, cooperation, interaction, expansion of contacts with representatives of literary associations from other regions of Russia and neighboring countries.
