A unique project “Hearing is easy” has started in Altai Automatic translate
Altai. The General Directorate of Education and Youth Policy of the Altai Territory together with Megafon announced the launch of a unique project, “Hearing is Easy”, dedicated to the problem of perceiving the world by visually impaired and blind children. The reward for participating in the social and literary competition will be the opportunity to take part in recording audio books for blind children.
“Visually impaired and blind children have limited access to literature, audio books are able to broaden their horizons. MegaFon, together with charitable organizations of Russia, helps to publish films with TV commentaries, which are still not numerous in our libraries. In the year of literature, we decided to voice books in addition to films, ”said Valery Kazachenko, director of the Altai branch of MegaFon. He also said that the organizers of the project “Hearing is easy” decided not only to create an audio library for special boarding schools in the Altai Territory, but also to involve schoolchildren with children with disabilities in this process.
Any student in the Altai Territory studying in grades 1–11 can become a participant in a social contest. To participate in the contest, the student needs to shoot a short video (no more than 3 minutes) on the phone’s camera (or any other device) where he will read an excerpt from the favorite poem of Russian poets. After that, the record must be uploaded to the social network Vkontakte with the hashtag # to hear simply and wait for the end of the qualifying round.
The qualifying stage lasts from June 1 to August 31. Then, a special jury, which includes teachers in speech technology, journalists and radio presenters, will determine from 10 to 15 finalists of the competition. The best young readers in September will be able to take master classes by professionals, after which they will be able to take part in the recording of audio books with stories by writers of the Altai Territory for their visually impaired peers. CDs with books will be replicated and transferred to Altai correctional schools.
