MURMANSK. The traditional Rubtsovskie readings, already held for the 25th time, started this year. Now they are being held at the site of the Murmansk Regional Children and Youth Library.
Murmansk residents say that January is for them a month in memory of the Russian poet Nikolai Rubtsov. Only 35 years of life was given to this talented man, almost six of whom he lived in the Kola North.
The 25th anniversary ceremony of the opening of the Rubtsov readings took place on the literary alley of Murmansk, near the bust of the poet. Director of the Murmansk Children and Youth Library Valentina Mikheva gave a speech, she shared her memories of the first Rubtsovsky evening, organized in the library, spoke about the opening of the bust to the poet, who laid the foundation for the literary alley of the city. Then the journalist and poet Dmitry Korzhov shared with his guests his impressions of the work of Nikolai Rubtsov. By tradition, the organizers of the event and guests at the bust of the poet read poetry. This year, the famous poem by Rubtsov, “My Quiet Homeland,” was read by actor Andrei Bobrov.
The meeting continued in the museum of the children’s handwritten book of the regional library, where the literary and poetic hour "The soul keeps…" was held, dedicated to the work and life of N.M. Rubtsova. During the festivities, the guests heard records of poems performed by the poet himself, as well as the audience sang songs on his poems.
