Solzhenitsyn, Natalia Solzhenitsyna and adviser to the President of the Russian Federation on culture Vladimir Tolstoy can also take part in the committee.

The 100th anniversary of the writer will be held in 2018. The early start of preparations for the celebration, Mikhail Seslavinsky, the head of Rospechat and a member of the organizing committee, explained that during this time it is necessary to carry out a number of restoration work to restore the author’s memorial sites. He also said that members of the government of the Russian Federation did not take part in the heated debate that recently unfolded around the figure of the writer and his role in Russian history. “It seems to me that the very fact of the approval of the organizing committee in this composition clearly demonstrates the position of the state,” said Mikhail Seslavinsky.
