Pushkin Cycle Night will be held in Moscow Automatic translate
MOSCOW. On the night of September 27-28, a bike quest dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the first publication of the poem by A.S. Pushkin. Saturday September night begins with a trip of thousands of cyclists together with famous Pushkinists and historians of Russia and neighboring countries around Pushkin Moscow. The action will take place under the lines of the poetry of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, familiar and beloved from childhood, and will end with a grand cycle concert and a bicycle picnic.
The participants of the Pushkin Cycle Night will have a unique opportunity to take a trip to the favorite places of the great poet - this is Ivanovskaya Gorka, Tverskaya, sung in the novel “Eugene Onegin”, the noble Basmannaya streets, Prechistenka with its preserved amazing “old-fashioned” atmosphere and, of course, Arbat, on which there is a memorial apartment of Pushkin.
Among the storytellers who will plunge into the history and poetry of Pushkin several thousand people will be: Moscow historian Sergei Romaniuk, professor of the Verona University Stefano Aloe and professor, deputy director of the Institute of Slavic Studies Fedor Uspensky.
The Moscow bike night was organized for the first time by the urban historian Sergei Nikitin in 2007. Since then, a series of such literary walks has been held, devoted to poetry, architecture and cultural cycling. Previously, bicycle nights such as Tyutchevskaya Moscow, Mayakovsky’s bicycle nights, and In Search of Lianozovo have already been organized. The project has already been carried out in other cities: in St. Petersburg, London, Rome, New York and Istanbul. According to the Moscow traffic police last year, the Moscow cycle night gathered more than 5 thousand cyclists. This year, Mayak radio station will broadcast live from a bicycle night to all of Russia.
Moscow bicycle night devoted to Pushkin’s work is supported by the Moscow Department of Culture, Health and Transport, the Agency for Public Projects, the Moscow City Architecture Committee, as well as the Bank of Moscow and the VTB Arena Park Project.
