Evgeny Yevtushenko at the Polytechnic Museum will read a new poem Automatic translate
MOSCOW. The audience, which will fill the hall of the Large audience of the Polytechnic Museum on December 27, will meet with Evgeny Yevtushenko. Presentation of new books will take place at the poet’s traditional evening, in addition to reading poetry and frank answers to questions from the audience.
For people who are not indifferent to the poetic word, the Large audience of the Polytechnic Museum, as in the legendary sixties, is a cult place. It was here that poetry evenings were held, at which new poems of young poets, which became symbols of poetry, were sounded.
The film “Zastava Ilyich”, filmed by director Marlene Khutsiev in 1962, includes a large episode in which viewers were able to see Andrei Voznesensky, Bella Akhmadulin, Robert Rozhdestvensky and Evgeny Yevtushenko on the stage of the Polytechnic Museum. When today voices of young poets in those years are heard from the screen, it seems that time has stopped. However, Evgeni Aleksandrovich Yevtushenko celebrated his eightieth birthday in July of this year.
Now the poet lives most of the time in the United States, but since 1995, on his birthday, he meets with spectators at a creative evening at the Polytechnic Museum. This year the meeting had to be postponed to the end of the year due to health problems, however, as always, Yevgeny Alexandrovich will read many poems, the autobiographical poem Dora Franco, dedicated to the poet’s youth, will be performed for the first time.
The public will be presented with a new collection of “Happiness and Losses”, which includes poems written by Evgeny Alexandrovich over the past two years, as well as the ninth volume of collected works released this year. The poet promised that he would read not only new verses from the stage, but also those that the audience would want to hear. There will be autographs on new books.
