An exhibition of paintings by Boris Grebenshchikov opened in the Yusupov Palace Automatic translate
ST. PETERSBURG. “BG is a phenomenon” - with this name in the Yusupov Palace on March 21 presented an exhibition of paintings owned by Boris Grebenshchikov, the leader of the Aquarium group. The exposition is located in the Konyushenny wing, where 16 paintings by the author in the technique of easel painting are located on the ground floor.
Some of the works are already familiar to the public through an exhibition recently held at the Erarta Museum. Two canvases several years ago participated in an exhibition held in London. Some of the works participating in the exposition were recently written by Boris Borisovich, the author has not yet shown them at the exhibition.
The period during which the canvases were created begins in the 80s and ends in 2017. Olga Chepurova, one of the organizers of the exhibition, in an interview with representatives of the media spoke about the works included in the exhibition. She believes that the manner of the works performed by Grebenshchikov cannot be said unequivocally.
The artist in his canvases combines various styles. Experts note that in the first works of Grebenshchikov there is primitivism, combined with industrial landscapes. Later, in his works, originality appeared and a romantic view of the world began to be felt.
In the plots of paintings placed on display, you can see landscapes that are distinguished by bright saturated colors. Written in an impressionistic manner, they are filled with romantic motifs. Churches and elements of their architecture are also present on the canvases of Grebenshchikov.
On the second floor there is a separate part of the exhibition, which presents rare photographs provided by St. Petersburg photographers. Here you can see pictures from concerts, portraits of the author in various images.
The exhibition is open until April 21.
