In the Serpukhov Museum of History and Art, a unique exhibition "East − West" Automatic translate
Serpukhov. Quite a bit of time was left for Serpukhov art lovers to get acquainted with the unique East-West exhibition, which recently opened in the Museum of History and Art. The inhabitants of Serpukhov got the opportunity to get acquainted with the works displayed at the exhibition thanks to the cooperation of the museum with Julia Verbitskaya, founder of the Russian Patrons Fund.
Most of the works on display were created by Tajik artists. Julia Verbitskaya provided them for the exhibition from her own collection. For a long time she has collected more than four hundred paintings made by painters from Central Asia. The museum already has experience in cooperation with the Russian Patrons Fund.
Last year, two exhibitions were held in Serpukhov, the works for which also came from the collection of Julia Verbitskaya. The East-West exhibition, opened at the museum on January 25, was an attempt to compare the Russian avant-garde with the Soviet-era paintings created in Tajikistan.
The Russian avant-garde was a revolutionary direction of art until the moment when painting was needed, more understandable to the masses. Many of the avant-garde artists left Russia forever, and some artists found a place for creativity in Central Asia. They are the founders of the school of Central Asian painting, which brought together artists from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkestan.
Thanks to the Russian masters who settled in the Central Asian republics, the traditional fine art was represented by artists of various nationalities, turning into a multicultural one. This phenomenon is clearly seen in the paintings created by Vladimir Glukhov. The artist combined the style of Petrov-Vodkin’s paintings with the traditions of Iranian miniatures in his works.
