KOSTROMA. The exhibition "Artists of Tajikistan" was opened in the Romanov Museum on February 9. In the exhibition hall of the museum there are works presented from their personal collection by Julia Verbitskaya, a Moscow collector and patron of art. Julia Verbitskaya is the founder of the Foundation for the Support of Museum Activity and Arts.
For the first time the exposition was shown in Moscow, in the State Museum of the East. The exposition united the works of two painters, whose work is closely connected with Central Asia. Both authors spent most of their lives in Tajikistan.
Alexey Besperstov moved with his family to Tajikistan from Russia in early childhood. His year of birth is 1923, he was a participant of the Patriotic War, after returning to Stalinabad (since 1961 - Dushanbe).
From that time on Alexey Besperstov’s life was devoted to painting and teaching. The exposition presents works created during the artist’s life in Tajikistan. Their main part - landscapes of mountain valleys and portraits of residents of distant villages. At the exhibition you can also see the works of Alexei Besperstov, created in trips around the Crimea.
For Vladimir Glukhov, who is a disciple of Alexei Besperstov, Dushanbe is a homeland. In this city the artist was born in 1961, in the same place he studied with Alexei Besperstov painting. This exhibition united the creativity of the teacher and pupil.
In the 90’s Vladimir Glukhov from Tajikistan moved to Tyumen, but the theme of Central Asia remained for him the main thing. His work is characterized by bright colors typical of the sunny edge. He combined color symbolism with elements of folklore. In his works, the artist creates a fantastic world, where his almost fairy-tale heroes tell real stories from life.
The exhibition is open until the end of March.
