On this day, the winners of the Russian Academy of Arts named after N. I. Feshin, established by the Ministry of Culture of Tatarstan together with the Russian Academy of Arts, were awarded. Feshin Prizes in 2016 received 4 Kazan artists: Antonova Irina, Zagidullin Ravil, Lopatin Alexander, Magina Lyubov, Moscow artist George Pusenkov. Three more artists: Konysheva Natta and Tabenkin Lev from Moscow, Gryaznov Victor from Nizhny Novgorod The prize will be received in Moscow.
From the Russian Academy of Arts, K.V. Khudyakov expressed gratitude to the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan, an invariable partner of the academic project, for his contribution to the development of Russian art and for helping to host the exhibition “Red Gates / Against the Current 2016”.
K.V. Khudyakov also awarded the PAX awards to Kazan artists following large-scale projects: the 2nd Kazan International Biennale of Printed Graphics, the Idel-Art Interregional Exhibition, the Sviyazhskaya Ear exhibition project, the Creative Workshop of the Volga Branch of the Russian Academy of Arts and the Union of Artists of Russia in Kazan. Diplomas of the Russian Academy of Arts were awarded: Artamonov Alexander, artist, head of the NTO “Kazan Grafcom” TLC in the Republic of Tatarstan; Vybornov Vyacheslav, artist, member of TLC in the Republic of Tatarstan; Karaseva Vera, artist-teacher, member of TLC in the Republic of Tatarstan; Piskarev Vladimir, artist, member of TLC in the Republic of Tatarstan; Shlyapkin Andrey, artist, member of TLC in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Gratitude to the Russian Academy of Arts was announced to Olga Ulemnova, art critic, art critic, member of the TLC in the Republic of Tatarstan; Baranov Vladislav, artist, member of TLC RT. Kazan artists were awarded certificates of participants in an academic project.
The large-scale research project is based on the methodology of the 17th century European enlightener Jan Amos Komensky, who created the encyclopedic work for the youth “The World of Sensual Things in Pictures”. The task of the organizers of the modern project is to display the diversity of the surrounding world of nature and human relations through the works of artists of the beginning of the 21st century, to explore the modern art process. In 2016, the competition considered works of art on 10 themes: Paradise, Fire, Air, Water, Earth, Day and Night, Time, Seasons, Cataclysm, Space.
In the framework of the academic project in 2016, the following events were organized: a traveling exhibition, master classes in painting and digital art, creative meetings, round tables, seminars, presentations of publishing projects.
This year, a special place in the publication of the second volume of the art encyclopedia is given to the works of the Russian-American artist N.I. Feshin from the collection of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan (Kazan). The museum has the largest collection of Feshin in Russia (more than 180 works). Ten of his works will be presented in the art encyclopedia: Feshin’s works open every thematic section. In the museum, Feshin’s anniversary exhibition is exhibited in the halls of the Hazine National Gallery at the same time as the Red Gate / Against the Current exhibition.
The exposition of the traveling exhibition included the works of artists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov, Samara, Togliatti, Izhevsk, Perm, Penza, Cheboksary, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Ulyanovsk, Ufa, Novosibirsk. A total of about 200 works by more than 180 artists, including 40 works by Kazan artists.
On October 28, in the Hazine Gallery of the Pushkin Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, as part of the presentation of the Red Gate / Against the Current exhibition, a round table was organized on the theme: “Quality in Contemporary and Traditional Art”. Participants: K.V. Khudyakov, I.P. Sosnovskaya, G.N. Puzenkov, S.A. Kuznetsova, A.D. Trubetskov, S.N. Karmeev, F.G. Khalikov, I.M. Samakayev, artists participating in the project. Issues such as criteria for selecting works for academic projects (for example, the contest "Against the Current"), criteria for evaluating works of contemporary art, etc.
A master class was held by artist George Puzenkov - laureate of the Prize of the Russian Academy of Arts. N.I. Feshin. In 1990, George Pusenkov received an invitation to collaborate from the German Hans Mayer Gallery. Since then he has been working in Germany and Russia, has a workshop in Cologne and Moscow. The author of the first in the history of the State Tretyakov Gallery installation ("Wall", 1993). Member of the 1st Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, 51st Venice Biennale. His works are stored in the collections of the Russian Museum, Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow Museum of Modern Art.
On October 28, a Creative meeting was also organized between Georgy Puzenkov and teachers and students of the Kazan Art College and the Surikov Institute (a branch of the Moscow Art Theater in Kazan). It should be noted that G.N. Puzenkov at the opening of the exhibition and awarding in Kazan announced his desire to transfer the N. I. Feshin Prize to the fund of the Kazan Art School - for the purchase of office equipment and art materials.
