MOUND. For the first time in the Kurgan art salon, they decided to introduce their guests to the authors of paintings, often presented at the opening days of the city. The organizers of the exhibition gave her the name "Artists of the Mound in Portraits." At the opening of the exhibition, the story of Nadezhda Ryabova, director of the salon, about the artist Viktor Safronov, the author of the idea of ​​creating this project, was heard.

Viktor Safronov was the first director of the art salon. Under his leadership, an ordinary retail outlet with stamped souvenirs became the "Art Salon Studio". Viktor Safronov’s dream was the further development of the salon, turning it into a house of artists. He believed that the creation of an exhibition consisting of portraits of artists should be a reason for the growth of interest in the old painting genre - a self-portrait.

Nadezhda Ryabova announced the immediate plans for the work of the art salon, which show several exhibitions of different genres. One of them will be dedicated to the Mound. The opened exhibition of portraits became the embodiment of the idea of ​​Viktor Safronov, it is possible that other dreams of the artist will come true.

In total, the exposition contains more than sixty works, some of which were executed by artists commissioned by Viktor Safronov. Some works were shared by the authors, who keep them in their collections. The Art Museum has provided five works from its collections for the exhibition.

The head of the salon noted that a very active artistic life was going on in Kurgan, but portraits did not appear too often at exhibitions. Therefore, the opened exhibition of portraits of Kurgan artists has become an important event. The central place in the exposition was taken by the portrait of Viktor Safronov, made in 2004 by Gennady Ivanchin, one of the best painters of the city.
