Belgorod residents saw China through the eyes of Voronezh artist Vladimir Goncharov Automatic translate
BELGOROD. The first visitors to the exhibition “China through the Eyes of an Artist”, which opened on March 30 in the Rodina Hall, were BSTU students who came to Belgorod from China. For them, this exhibition was not just an acquaintance with the work of the Voronezh artist Vladimir Goncharov, but also a meeting with their native country. At the opening ceremony were also specialists working in the museum and exhibition complex of the University. Shukhov.
Vladimir Goncharov spent about three years in China. This trip was made possible for the artist due to the cultural cooperation of the universities of the two countries - China and Russia. Ancient and incredibly rich Chinese culture has always attracted people of art, becoming for them a source of inspiration.
During his life in Shandong Province, Vladimir Goncharov managed to visit many Chinese cities, ranging from the capital to small villages. However, as an artist, he was not too interested in modern cities, practically no different from megacities of other countries of the world.
In his works, you can see the old Peking quarters, Chinese churches and streets of small towns, which attracted Vladimir Goncharov with their national color. The exposition contains approximately 90 works made in graphic technique. The artist supplemented the graphics selected for the exhibition with his works related to decorative and applied art, including tapestries and objects made of felted felt in the exposition.
The graphics of Vladimir Goncharov are laconic, but the streets with traditional houses, fountains and trees are decorated with red festive lanterns, symbolizing holiday and success in China. Such details give the exhibition a festive mood.
"China through the eyes of the artist" is waiting for a visit on April 24.
