LIPETSK. The events dedicated to the ninetieth anniversary of Vasily Shevchenko, the famous Lipetsk artist, continue. In January, two exhibitions were already held in Lipetsk, where the work of a talented master was presented, and now connoisseurs of the works created by Vasily Shevchenko will see two more expositions with paintings by the artist.

The first of the anniversary exhibitions can already be seen by visiting the Lipetsk Center for Fine Arts, where since April 15 an exhibition consisting of paintings and drawings created by Vasily Shevchenko has been placed. All works for the opening exhibition (and there are about five dozen of them in the exposition) were provided from private collections.

Thanks to the staff of the Lipetsk Museum of Folk Art, after five days you will be able to see another exhibition for the anniversary of Vasily Shevchenko. Under the name “Heart of the Veteran,” it will be presented to the public on April 20.

Visitors to the museum will see more than 30 works. Some of them are constantly in museum collections, and the rest are in the collection owned by Taisiya Fedorova, the wife of the artist. The creative heritage of Vasily Shevchenko amounted to more than a thousand works, the artist devoted many of them to his childhood, spent in the Voronezh region.

The grave wound received by Vasily Shevchenko at the front did not give him the opportunity to get a professional education, however, he had learned the mastery of painting all his life. His works, referred by experts to naive art, were worthily appreciated. Since 1990, the artist is a member of a professional creative association belonging to the UNESCO International Federation of Artists. A year later, Vasily Shevchenko was admitted to the Union of Artists of the Lipetsk branch.

Both exhibitions are open for a month.
