SIMFEROPOL. The City Art Museum continues the project “Crimean Dynasties”, created to familiarize art lovers with the work of families gifted with creative talents. The exhibition, which opened on March 10 in the museum hall, was created as part of this project. It presents works of art created by members of the Kalemenev family.
The exhibition includes 54 works belonging to different areas of art. Among them there are paintings, sculptures and batik are presented. The main part of the exhibition was occupied by works performed by the Kalemenev spouses - Valentina Alexandrovna and Yuri Anatolyevich. For Valentina Alexandrovna, a professional artist, landscapes have long been a favorite genre.
She loves to write “wet” watercolors, but for the exhibition she selected 28 landscapes made on silk. She created these works using cold batik technique. Her delicate landscapes show the beauty of the picturesque Crimean corners - bays, embankments, old streets.
Yuri Anatolyevich began his journey into art with artistic carving. Then this hobby led him to create sculptures made of wood. The exhibition presents works made in the artist’s favorite genre - animalistics.
More recently, a new theme has appeared in the artist’s work - bas-reliefs and high reliefs with religious subjects. The exhibition includes 6 carved icons, co-authored by the wife of the artist. She completes the creation of reliefs by painting them with paints.
Presented at the exhibition and the work of the representative of the younger generation - Anton Yurievich, continuing family traditions. The exhibition included 5 paintings filled with fantastic images, as well as 10 small sculptures.
You can see the work of the Kalemenev family until April 3.
