ST. PETERSBURG. The museum-apartment of I. Brodsky constantly presents its space for exhibitions of outstanding artists. This time the museum opened on January 6, an exhibition of paintings created for the 90th anniversary of the Leningrad artist Marianne Davidson. The exhibition includes works created by Marianna Solomonova over the past decade, supplemented by copyright works dated to an earlier period.
Marianna Solomonovna got her first skills in the profession, studying in a private studio, where her teacher was a student of Repin, artist A. Eberling. Then followed by study at the school. Mukhina, graduated by the artist in 1952. Already in 1959, Marianne Davidson became a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists.
Marianna Solomonovna’s work is characterized by a realistic manner. In her works, she sincerely and directly conveys admiration for the world around her. All landscape sketches written by the author were created exclusively in the open air.
The genres in which the artist works are extremely diverse - portraits, landscapes, still lifes, easel painting. In the works of Marianna Solomonovna there is genuine art with its naturalness, lack of deliberate mannerism. The artist’s works are unique as well as beautiful music.
Although Marianna Solomonovna studied art at excellent teachers, however, she considers Yuri Tulin, her husband, to be her main teacher. The work of the outstanding artist was awarded the international Grand Prix in Brussels at the exhibition EXPO-1958.
Marianne Davidson held many successful solo exhibitions, and her work is in demand by museums and private collections.
