KOMSOMOLSK-ON-AMUR. The Museum of Fine Arts in early January presented an exhibition that became the first event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of its opening. Its not too ordinary story began in 1966, when on January 25 the first visitors came to the new museum of the city. The initiators of his appearance were artists from Moscow Sandler and Vitukhnovskaya.
In 1965, with the help of the press, they turned to their colleagues for help in organizing an art museum in the city of Youth. A decade later, in the collections of the museum opened there were about 1300 works of various genres. To date, the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts is more than 17 thousand valuable exhibits representing various periods and trends of art.
The museum funds contain works created by Russian and foreign masters of art, as well as a solid collection of works of traditional art forms of the peoples living in the Amur Region. Museum staff are not only engaged in collecting and research work.
They do everything to familiarize visitors with the knowledge of art in any form. The museum hosts meetings with artists, folklore festivals and concerts. Within its walls, there is a place for exhibitions of children’s creativity.
The exhibition prepared for the anniversary was created from the works that have replenished the museum’s collection over the past five years. Most of these works were donated to the museum by authors and collectors, and some were purchased from the creators of the works of art or their heirs.
Museum workers pay special attention to the works of artists of the city of Youth. Seeing the museum’s interest in their works, many donate their works to the museum, knowing that they will be preserved.
