NIZHNY NOVGOROD. Until December 13th, the personal artist Yevgeny Frolov, organized in honor of his 60th birthday, was opened at the State Museum and Exhibition Complex. The paintings created by the master of painting were regular participants in group exhibitions held by the Union of Artists of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Despite the obviousness of the talent of Yevgeny Frolov, his first solo exhibition was presented to connoisseurs of painting a year after his death. The organization of this exhibition for several months involved Galina Usova, the widow of the artist.

The exposition, located in several halls of the National Museum of Geography, presents 132 works covering significant periods in the work of Yevgeny Frolov. The public has not seen such a volume of the artist’s work.

Looking around the exhibition halls, visitors will see works created in the best traditions of famous masters of past centuries. Evgeny Frolov devoted most of his life to the study of the technique and style of their painting, considering Rembrandt and Van Gogh his teachers. In reality, his teacher was Yu. And Skorikov, a teacher at the Academy of Arts.

Working under the guidance of Yu. Skorikov in Crimea, at the Goryachiy Klyuch creative summer residence, the young artist developed his own style of painting. The exposition of the exhibition was created in such a way that it clearly shows how the creative style of Evgeny Frolov changed.

According to Irina Marsheva, an art historian at the NVGK, the exposition is built according to the laws of drama, and its feature is the combination of paintings written in a different manner - from hyperrealism to impressionism.
