Valentin Vasilievich received his professional education at the Nizhny Tagil Pedagogical Institute, where in 1971 he graduated from the Faculty of Art and Graphics. Valentin Zhdanov began to show his work at exhibitions since 1972, and a decade later the painter was accepted into the Union of Artists of Russia.
The artist does not limit his work to the framework of several genres. In his paintings, one can see landscapes and portraits, thematic compositions based on myths and legends. Valentin Zhdanov performs monumental and decorative works - paintings and stained glass. Uses graffiti technique in decorative works. Valentin Vasilyevich also works in watercolor.
The painter brought to Nizhny Tagil works created before the year 2000, representing cycles of works entitled “Myths”, “Birds”, “Mountains”, “Mirages”. The exposition, which received the name “Echoes: Mirages… Reality” from the author, also includes landscapes and thematic compositions.
The unusual world presented in the artist’s works often combines reality with fantasy. Even nature, coming to life on the canvases of the painter, can become both a real human environment and a sign of the historical era. Valentin Zhdanov also has favorite places that inspire him to create landscapes - the Urals and the Kama region. The nature of this region can often be seen on its picturesque canvases, written from nature.
Exhibition of creativity of Valentin Zhdanov, which opened on November 18, can be visited until December 20.
