VLADIMIR. From October 9, the Museum Center “Palata” has opened the exhibition “Bring Back to Life…”. Her exposition, dedicated to the work of Vladimir restorers, is composed of a variety of exhibits, each of which was in the hands of masters who managed to extend their life.

Among the exhibits are presented not only icons and paintings, but also cult objects, jewelry and clothes, as well as archaeological finds from excavations in the old part of Vladimir. Some of the exhibits have already been shown at exhibitions earlier, however, museum staff were able to present most of them to the public only now.

The Museum Center "Chambers" has collected in its vaults a rich collection of exhibits, which are art and cultural monuments representing Russian history. They need to be shown to museum visitors, but exhibits requiring restoration can only be included in the exposition after restoration work.

Work on preserving museum values ​​was begun at the beginning of the last century. Vladimir churches were examined by experts of the Commission, leading the conservation of paintings created in ancient Russia. A substantial number of icons were restored by the employees of the Center named after Grabar in the years 60-70.

Now in the Museum Center of Vladimir, which is part of the complex of the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve, has its own restoration department, created in 1959. Experienced professionals work in it, able to perform almost any restoration work efficiently. The last decades of the restoration of museum exhibits are carried out by the forces of our own talented employees.

The exhibition, where you can see the individual stages of restoration work, is open until November 28.
