Solo exhibition of graphics by Nikolai Zaykov "White Night" will acquaint the Barnul people with views of St. Petersburg Automatic translate
BARNAUL. Since September 15, the Altai Museum of Art and Culture, located on the street. Tolstoy, represents the work of the artist Nikolai Zaikov at his personal exhibition "White Night". Its exposition includes 31 graphic works and one work, for the creation of which the artist used the collage technique.
So far, only St. Petersburg public has seen these works. Nikolai Zaikov showed them in his gallery, located in the city on the Neva. The northern capital has been a source of inspiration for the author for many years. He constantly goes there on creative trips, as a result of which he had a solid collection of landscapes, representing a special look at St. Petersburg, different from that presented in classical painting and graphics.
Employees of the Barnaul Museum explain to visitors that in the schedule created by Nikolai Zaikov, the main character is not just the city itself, but to some extent become the symbol of the Northern capital, the space of the White Night. Experiments with picture angles, the use of unusual angles of view, allows the artist to create new, original poetic images that make it possible to see the city alive, to get acquainted with its unusual character.
Although Petersburg is important in the creative life of Nikolai Zaykov, the artist is not going to change his place of residence. He has been living in Barnaul since 2001, having moved to the Altai capital immediately after graduating from the Novosibirsk Art Academy. He works as a teacher of fine art at the university, leads an active creative and social life. He is a member of the regional branch of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation, where he solves the problems of young artists.
The White Night exhibition is waiting for those wishing to see the views of St. Petersburg until October 18th.
