Khanty-Mansiysk. The exhibition halls, where a permanent exhibition is located in the Khanty-Mansiysk Art Museum, are again available to visitors from August 20. After the museum was closed at the end of May for reconstruction, it was planned to be reopened on October 1st, however, the main work has already been completed.
Museum staff decided to open the museum halls well ahead of schedule, inviting visitors to their first excursions on August 20th. The current repair of the halls of the art museum took less than three months. During this time, the appearance of the premises was updated, during the repair new equipment was installed to illuminate the expositions.
During the repair, the museum’s specialists managed to develop a more competent placement of the permanent exhibition dedicated to Russian art of the 18-20th century, as well as to assemble it. Thanks to the renewal of the exhibition space, new exhibits of fine art appeared in the main sections of the permanent exhibition.
Now the exhibits included in the exposition are arranged in chronological order of their creation, which allows visitors to get acquainted with the main stages of the development of art in Russia. Another important work has been done - a guide to the updated exhibition exposition has been released.
Although the museum has already received applications for visiting the museum as the first excursion groups, the official opening will take place according to the approved reconstruction plan - on October 1. By this time, specialized showcases will be installed in the museum halls, which will allow visitors to show significantly more exhibits from the museum’s collection. Due to the lack of exhibition space, visitors have never seen many rarities before.
Funds for repairs were received from the budget of the Autonomous Okrug.
