STAVROPOL. Employees of the Stavropol Museum of Fine Arts presented visitors with an updated exposition of the "Golden Collection", compiled annually from the best works stored in storage. Each update of the Golden Collection is dedicated to a new topic. The new exhibition, available to museum visitors until the end of April next year, was created as part of the Year of Literature.

This is also emphasized in the title of the exposition, which refers to the inextricable union of art and word. To accommodate three hundred exhibits, three halls of the museum are reserved. In the paintings and graphics included in the exhibition, artists talk about their eras, using the language of fine art.

All works are made in different styles, which makes viewing the collection even more interesting. Among the exhibits on display at the exhibition, one can see the works of world-famous authors. Visitors to the exhibition will be interested to see the watercolor created by Alexandre Benois in Compiegne, a small French town. The museum’s visitors will be no less interested in the unique edition of “History of Painting…”, which presents the paintings of different nations.

From books placed on exhibition stands, one can trace how the literary language developed in the country, from its origin to the classics of the pen of Pushkin and his contemporaries. The exhibits included the unique altar Four Gospel belonging to the museum.

This rare edition, in the design of which artists with an academic education participated, was printed in 1800. They worked on his release in the Moscow sinoid printing house. Each page of this rare book is decorated with Rococo and Baroque motifs.
