MOSCOW. In the gallery of Zurab Tsereteli, the Russian Academy of Arts presents an exhibition of works by Vladimir Galatenko, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Vladimir Galatenko is fluent in oil painting techniques and uses numerous graphic techniques in his work. The artist is able to fulfill his plan, using a variety of genres and styles. His skills are well known in countries where he took part in a substantial number of group exhibitions. Solo exhibitions of V. Galatenko were held in many countries of Europe. The artist’s works are presented in museums in our country and abroad.

Galatenko received his profession as an artist at the Moscow Textile Institute, where he studied at the Faculty of Applied Arts, but began his creative biography with landscapes. Since childhood, the artist dreamed of traveling to the regions where you can see unusual landscapes.

In his first trips, Galatenko visited Baikal, Siberia, Karelia, and Georgia. He traveled to Sakhalin Island. From each trip, the artist brought an extensive series of landscapes depicting the places where he had been. And today landscapes remain for Galatenko the favorite of the picturesque genres.

The exposition presents a significant number of landscapes, among which a special place is given to works devoted to Chekhov’s places. Among them are not only Melikhov landscapes, but also the unique interiors of the estate. The central place in the exposition was taken by a diptych dedicated to the memory of the artist’s mother.
