MOSCOW. The Art School in memory of 1905 marks its 90th anniversary this year. The history of the oldest educational institution in Russia, in which the profession of an artist of various specialties is taught, dates back to 1925. The school was organized by order of Anatoly Lunacharsky, who was then the People’s Commissar of Education. It was opened under the name "Isotekhnikum".
Since this year marks the twentieth anniversary of the revolutionary events of 1905, the name of the college was supplemented with the words “in memory of 1905”. Over the years of the art school, a substantial number of painters, theater artists, restorers and designers have been trained in it. Many of his graduates became teachers of professional disciplines.
In honor of the anniversary of this unique educational institution, an art exhibition was inaugurated on May 14 at the MOSH exhibition hall located on Begovaya Street. Its exposition housed works of art made in different years by teachers and students of the school.
Visitors to the exhibition will get acquainted with the works of artists using various genres and techniques in their work - from painting and graphics to sculptures and works related to decorative and applied art. The exposition is filled with works that are diverse in style.
It included easel painting by Anton Ivanov, created by the artist in the style of traditional realism. Next to his picture, you can see the works of A. Timchenko and K. Rozanov. They use the style of expressive abstractionism, the work of Yaroslav Martynov, creating conditional supermatic compositions.
The exhibition, which is an expression of respect for the teachers of the school, is open until May 30.
