VLADIVOSTOK. The Museum of Modern Art "Art floor " presented an exhibition of the American artist of Russian origin Sergey Gollerbakh. The presentation took place on November 21st. At its exposition, the organizers presented graphic and watercolor works donated by the author to the museum.
Sergei Gollerbach made such a gift to the Vladivostok Museum in memory of his close friend, who was born in the capital of Primorye. The presentation of the exhibition was started with a video message recorded by Sergey Lvovich in the USA, from where the gift of the artist came. The author recorded a month ago especially for future visitors to the exhibition.
Addressing the visitors of the exhibition, the artist said that the reason for presenting his work in Vladivostok was not only friendship with a person born in this city, but also his acquaintance in New York with Olga Nenazhivina, an artist from Primorye. It was thanks to her proposal to show the work of Sergei Gollerbach that this exhibition was organized.
The artist lives in the United States since 1949, but his homeland is Russia, Tsarskoye Selo. He was taken to Germany in 1942 as a fifteen-year-old teenager, where he worked until 1945. Since 1946, he studied at the Academy of Arts of Munich, and then moved to the United States, where he led an active creative life. In the late fifties, Sergey Lvovich regularly took part in group exhibitions, and personal shows of his works were organized.
Later, the artist began to engage in book graphics. He constantly collaborated with the Albatros publishing house, where the works of Russian writers and poets were published. Many publications were issued by Sergey Lvovich. Today, Sergei Gollerbach is a member of the National Academy of Arts and Honorary President of the Society of Watercolorists of America.
