KIRISHI. A unique exhibition is open at the KINEF Palace of Culture. For the first time, residents of the city of Kirishi got the opportunity to see authentic canvases written by Russian artists who created their works in the first half of the 19th century. The canvases arrived in the city from the Russian Museum, whose employees are very careful about the exhibits of their collection.
Such an action - the transfer of works of art from the Russian Museum to a small city in the Leningrad Region is carried out for the first time. This event is dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the opening of the virtual center of the Russian Museum in Kirishi. For a full month, through November 25th, residents of Kirishi will be able to see the canvases of Russian artists not only in the virtual center, but also in the real exhibition space of the palace of culture of their native city.
The exhibition, presented under the title “Views of the surroundings of St. Petersburg,” contains seven paintings that show landscapes of Peterhof, Vyborg, a view of the Gulf of Finland and other famous places in the suburbs of St. Petersburg. To inspect the masterpieces of Russian painting, tours are provided.
The opening ceremony of the unique exhibition was attended by Vadim Somov, general director of KINEF LLC, as well as Gennady Goldovsky, an employee of the Russian Museum, who heads the department of painting of the 18-19th century. In their speeches, it was noted that the acquaintance of the inhabitants of Kirishi with the authentic canvases in the museum collection was made possible thanks to the close cooperation of KINEF and the Russian Museum.
Museum employees make extremely high demands both on the safety of paintings and on the premises where the exposition will be placed. Therefore, the importance of implementing the project to create a virtual branch of the Russian Museum in Kirishi is invaluable.
