Personal exhibition of Lilia Ustyugova in the library of Bogolyubov Automatic translate
From September 8 to October 20, the Library of Arts. A.P. Bogolyubova (Moscow, Suschevskaya 14) and the Russian Association of Marinist Artists conduct a solo exhibition of paintings by Lilia Ustyugova, a participant in the International Cultural and Historical Project “Family Album”, and the “Sevastopol Waltz” battle painter.
Our correspondent artist, Surzhina Diana, first decided that these were paintings from the time of the Soviet Union, made in a strong manner of realism. But it turned out that a joyful perception of work and a sunny manner of writing are characteristic of a very young talented student artist. In her paintings, a sailor with a mop or a captain in a wheelhouse are depicted in their usual surroundings at their daily work, but they amazingly convey the romance of the profession and their attitude to their work. A separate place in the exposition is given to the painting “Meeting of the destroyer“ Restless ”, which was created during art practice on the basis of the Baltic Navy of Russia in the city of Baltiysk, Kaliningrad Region in 2013. A joyful meeting of the ship conveys the world of a military town where almost all families are waiting for husbands and sons from a long trip.
The exhibition presents new works by the artist, mainly of the Sevastopol cycle, dedicated to the sailors of the Russian Navy. Despite the youth of the author, the work of Lilia Ustyugova is already well known. This year alone, several personal exhibitions of painting and drawing by a young artist took place. Young people and the older generation were greatly interested in her painting, exhibited in the halls of the Zamoskvorechye State Concert Hall and within the walls of the partner of the cultural and historical project “Family Album” - GBUK TsBS SAO “Library No. 79”.
Visitors to the Art Library are also familiar with the name of Lilia Ustyugova. Last spring, she took part in a creative competition dedicated to the 190th anniversary of A.P. Bogolyubov, presenting the workshop of battle painting of the Surikov Institute under the leadership of the People’s Artist of the RSFSR Nikolai Nikolayevich Solomin. Lilia’s work continues the traditions of the Russian realistic school of painting.
The presented cycle is close in theme to the so-called "socialist realism." This characterizes the artist as an independent creative person who does not want to adapt to fashion trends and declares herself vividly and uncompromisingly.
