SARATOV. “My small homeland” - under this name, on the eve of the city’s day, an art exhibition opened in Saratov. In the exhibition hall, owned by the Saratov branch of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation, thirty-three artists presented to the public their works of art made in various art genres.

All works housed in the exhibition space are united by one theme - each dedicated to Saratov. Visitors to the exhibition will see paintings depicting iconic places of the city, and some connoisseurs of paints can recognize some streets and nooks written by artists.

On the canvases of the masters, the most beautiful city landscapes come to life, water splashes along the Volga shores, Saratov’s surroundings extend beyond the horizon, beyond the canvases made by a brush of talented artists.

In their works, painters use both a realistic manner and an impressionistic technique. The canvases of each artist are recognizable - the works written by Natalia Moiseeva are made with wide and sweeping strokes, and the dynamic paintings by Elena Maltseva resemble photographs, only the energy of painting lives in them. Gennady Parfyonov creates decorative and vibrant canvases in which an unusual Saratov is born from combinations of multi-colored miniature triangles and squares.

A part of the paintings of the exposition acquaints with the appearance of the city in the 1960-1980s. The section devoted to the images of the old city presents a whole series of works performed by Saratov artists. A remarkable decoration of the exhibition was sculptural compositions by Nikolai Kamyshnikov, expanding the exhibition space.

This exposition continues the exhibition “The Land of the Native”, opened in the regional Duma.
