"Weekdays of the Province" by Olga Motovilova Komova Automatic translate
At the beginning of the journey, the first exhibitions of O. Komova were held in the hall of the Committee of Russian Women. Therefore, it is no coincidence that the artist presents this anniversary exposition “Everyday Life of the Province”, a kind of digest report for the past 20 years, in this very hall. At the same time, this is a peculiar continuation of the FLOWER LIGHT exhibition, which opened on September 13 in the Na Novinsky gallery. Exhibited 26 works of 1994-2014.
The main theme of the artist’s work is the small cities of Russia. Not so much their ethnographic affiliation, but primarily the internal, human essence, expressed in an open and clear color, excites the author.
The exhibition presents both multi-figured genre compositions from the life of peasants and citizens, as well as animal works, Volga panoramas, city landscapes and still lifes. It is characteristic that every work of Olga, regardless of the genre, is always a capacious psychological image. Russian openness of perception, combined with the experience of Russian and French Fauvism, give the viewer a bright, positive impetus. The artist charges with optimism, and that is why his work attracts more and more fans, from time to time visiting the exhibition, watching every turn in his art. However, the main path has not been changed - the joy of being, expressed by the classical means of fine art: the only true sharp composition, a complicated space that emphasizes the plane of the canvas, a clear open color that conveys all shades of emotions and empathy. On the eve of the cold weather, it’s time for us to absorb a little warmth and joy. Painting by Olga Motovilova Komova gives us this chance.
