Landscapes of Veliky Novgorod at the personal exhibition of Darina Sidorova Automatic translate
VELIKIY NOVGOROD. The Museum of Culture of Novgorod Land continues the project “Summer for Young Artists”. In the last days of August, a personal exhibition of Darina Sidorova, a young artist who grew up in Novgorod, was opened as part of this project.
Darina presented at the exhibition a small series of works - only 18 sketches. Most of them are written in pastel. The artist believes that studies are more valuable than paintings created on their basis. The sketch, written by the artist from nature, bears the first impression that the artist received when contemplating the landscape. Part of this impression when transferring an etude to a canvas is sometimes lost.
At each of the sketches, the artist presents the beloved corners of her native Novgorod to the audience. Darina says that people often run through the well-known streets, not noticing the beauty that surrounds them. Most of them do not find time to stop and view the amazing landscapes of Veliky Novgorod.
Most often, the artist paints landscapes with images of streets that have retained their pre-war, historical appearance - the area of the Trade side, the Kremlin walls. Sometimes he finds something interesting in the modern part of the city. Among her works there are sketches created in the places where the yacht club is located. One of them was made in pastel, for the other Darina used a helium pen. They depict a fading, vanishing form of water transport - seoym. Novgorod fishermen used to fish on them.
Darina Sidorova also transfers love to her native city to her students studying at the art school. They are regular participants in competitions held at the Museum of Artistic Culture, show their work in the exhibition project "My First Opening Day".
The works of Darina Sidorova can be seen until September 21.
