These were themes born of a war that remained in the artist’s soul forever and imperiously, requiring reflection.

The secrets of pictorial art Vasily Shevchenko comprehended independently. During the time devoted to improving his skills, the artist created his own unique painting style, the basis of which was the plastic of the traditional "primitive art". The canvases, inhabited by unusual animals, goblin and mermaids, could not go unnoticed.

A considerable number of publications were devoted to the extraordinary personality of the Russian artist, documentaries were shot. Some critics considered the style of his writing to be ingenious, others did not accept, but there were no people indifferent to the artist’s work. Although V. After the death of V. Shevchenko, about two hundred of his works were donated by the artist’s widow to the Voronezh Museum. Kramskoy. In Voronezh, several exhibitions were held. Now residents of Tver will be able to get in touch with the artist’s work. The exhibition is open until June 29th.
