"Amarcord" - an exhibition in memory of Tonino Guerra Automatic translate
April 3 at 18.00 in the exhibition hall of the hall "Peresvetov pereulok" (Peresvetov pereulok, 4/1), the opening of the exhibition in memory of Tonino Guerra "Amarkord" took place. The exhibition hall "Peresvetov pereulok" continues to acquaint the audience with the work of the outstanding Italian screenwriter, poet, artist Tonino Guerra. This year’s exhibition, Amarkord, features color lithographs, textile prints, ceramics based on Guerra’s designs, as well as genuine photographs provided by private collectors and the artist’s widow, Laura Guerra.
The name of the exhibition was inspired by the film Amarcord, a script for which was written by Tonino Guerra together with Federico Fellini, which in translation from Italian means "I remember." As in the film of the same name, which is based on the autobiographical memoirs of the director, so in the works of Guerra presented at the exhibition we see images prompted by the artist’s past, real and cinematic. They are light and naive, bright and sad, they have as much simplicity as depth. Tonino Guerra was a great storyteller and, it seems, nothing better explains his work than his own comments: “I have always filled my memory. I tried to help her. I recorded the most interesting. I cut out pages I liked from newspapers and magazines, even books. He tried to remember what happened to me. Memory was the most precious storeroom for me. I think for my friends too. Fellini often referred to the memory of his childhood. Memory is the artist’s main tool. But this is not only a tool. Often the memory becomes the main character of the film. And when we sat next to Fellini, or Antonioni, or Angelopoulos, we did not have a plot that someone would write for us. A memory always sat next to us. We asked her for help and started to work. ”
Guerra called his paintings "colored thoughts of the poet." It is always a joy, a lot of irony and even a grotesque experienced and translated by him in poetry, films and visual arts. “The world we live in is simple. He is full of poetry. "Bon jorno", "Good morning" - that’s what we live for, and not for the sake of all these deafening special effects. " Guerra’s art is filled with archetypal clue signs (butterfly, chicken, lamb), the meaning of which is to remind everyone of the triumph of life, spring, love. That is why Italians called Tonino Guerra a man of the Renaissance. The recognized master of cinema dramaturgy Tonino Guerra (1920-2012) wrote scripts for masterpieces of world cinema, films of such directors as Federico Fellini, Michelangelo Antonioni, Vitorio De Siki, Francesco Rosi, Theo Angelopoulos, the Taviani brothers, Andrei Khrzhanovsky and Andrei Tarkovsky. The exhibition hall "Peresvetov Lane" has existed on Avtozavodskaya for almost three decades. Here, shocking underground events of the 1980s, conceptual exhibitions and performances of the Avant-Garde Club (KLAVA) and impromptu shows of the Order of Courtyard Mannerists of the 1990s were held here. Freedom, independence and search in various fields of art of the new century - these are the main events in the history of this famous gallery.
Such famous artists as Avdey Ter-Oganyan, Vladimir Dubosarsky, Aidan Salakhova, Valery Koshlyakov began their career in the gallery. The exhibition hall "Peresvetov Pereulok" is the territory of an art experiment, innovative ideas and classics outside the archaic, one of the legendary centers of the artistic life of Moscow.
