Igor Ilchuk: “Colors of music” in DEVE Gallery Moscow Automatic translate
On March 20, the personal exhibition of Igor Ilchuk, a truly outstanding artist with a specific way of thinking, opened in DEVE Gallery Moscow. He writes music not with musical notes, but with paints on canvas and paper. It is impossible to explain with words, however, just as it cannot be described with words, for example, Beethoven’s sonata, it must be heard, felt. The painting of Igor Ilchuk also needs to be listened to - with eyes, ears, feelings. Performed in complex mixed media, his works are incredibly rhythmic, they have all the characteristic features inherent in musical works - sound space, articulation, dynamics.

“Igor Ilchuk has been professionally engaged in creativity since 1996. Currently, his creed is formulated as follows: “My goal in any work is to be as truthful as possible, not to allow lies either in relation to myself or the viewer. Every stroke, every smear should be calibrated and honed. I consider the painting as a means for spiritual and intellectual growth, both of the artist and the viewer. ”
Recently, Igor Ilchuk’s exhibitions were held mainly abroad, his works were presented as part of the December Art Week in Miami (USA), where they were very successful. This was an excellent incentive to hold a personal exhibition for Moscow viewers, which will feature paintings made in various techniques and styles, but united by one idea: MUSIC embodied in PICTURES. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to listen to the artist’s paintings through their eyes and ears at the same time, because each work will have its own individual soundtrack. Classics and modernity, interpretation of the famous musical epics of Wagner and Rachmaninov - impressions of music in Igor Ilchuk’s new multimedia exhibition project - “PAINT MUSIC”.
