MOSCOW. On January 12, a personal exhibition of Alexander Pavlovich Volkov, a senior artist and teacher of the Academy, was opened in the administrative building of the Academy of Watercolors. At the exhibition, which received a simple name - “Painting. Graphics ”, visitors will see more than one hundred works of the artist, among which there are completely new works that are still unfamiliar to the public.

Viewers already familiar with the work of A. Volkov will be interested to see paintings painted by the artist many years ago, but not exhibited for a long time. Volkov selected several student works to participate in the exhibition. According to him, these works were chosen because he was not ashamed of them. The exhibition exposition included black and white drawings and several sketches.

In the art salon of the Academy you can buy a catalog of works by Alexander Volkov, published specifically for the opening of a personal exhibition. In his work, Alexander Volkov uses various techniques, mastering each of them with remarkable skill.

Among the artist’s works there are oil paintings, often he uses the complex technique of multilayer watercolors. Volkov brilliantly knows the technique of wall painting, as well as an excellent master of drawing. The painter took part in the painting of the central iconostasis in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. In the artist’s creative luggage there is also work in the field of book illustration. A book by V. Kononenko “Morning of the Patriarch” with illustrations by A. Volkov was published, a series of watercolors for sacred texts was created.

The master has been engaged in teaching activities for many years. Since 1999, he has been working at the School of Watercolor, whose creator is Sergey Andriyaki, and since 2012, he is a teacher at the Academy of Watercolor. Member of many art exhibitions, including more than 20 personal ones.
