Retrospective of the works of Yuri Albert at the Museum of Modern Art Automatic translate
MOSCOW. An unusual exhibition has opened in the metropolitan museum of modern art, which became the first full retrospective of the works of Yuri Albert, one of the most famous Russian conceptual artists. The exhibition will cover all aspects of the artist’s work - paintings, drawings, video projects, installations will be shown.
However, visitors will not be able to see at the same time everything that will be shown at the exhibition. Those of them who came to the opening of the project were able to see only text comments on his works. A constantly asked question about what the artist wanted to say with his works, Yuri Albert was already fed up.
Therefore, the exhibition began with comments written by several famous artists and project curator Catherine Degot. Each of the comments is not just a story about the content of the work - each of them is made either in the form of a small philosophical essay or parable.
More than sixty comments written on various works of the artist occupied all the walls of the exhibition hall. To read some of them, you need to go around the hall after a long line beginning at the entrance, for others there was a place almost under the ceiling.
The artist himself saw some of these comments for the first time at the opening of the project. About the painting "Monkey" Anatoly Osmolovsky wrote that he does not want to have anything to do with her. However, they did not see the image of the drawing monkey on the first day of the project, it will appear later. So far, only a series of stories has been presented, where the Pencil and Monkey talk about art.
Gradually, until the end of December, comments will be replaced by the artist. The exhibition runs until January 12, a ticket for it must be purchased only on the first visit.
