In the Russian Museum, the exhibition "Soil and Fate" talked about the Plast dynasty Automatic translate
ST. PETERSBURG. For the first time in the Russian Museum gathered in a single exhibition space the artistic work of all representatives of the Plast dynasty. Since September 4, an exposition of the exhibition “Soil and Fate” has unfolded in the Benoit building, based on the works of Arkady Plastov, one of the recognized masters of painting, in whose work the main theme was peasant motifs.
During his lifetime, his work became an example of classical art. You could get acquainted with some of them simply by opening school textbooks. Together with the works of Arkady Plastov - graphics, illustrations for books, archival photographs, the exhibition presents works created by his close relatives, so this exhibition has become truly unique, representing the history of a dynasty of artists.
The exposition includes the works of the son of Arkady Plastov - Nikolai, Elena Kholodilina - the wife of her son, as well as the grandson - Nikolai Plastov. The works that are presented at the exhibition are constantly in the collections of the country’s most famous museums. Some belong to the Plastov family collection.
Ten paintings by Arkady Plastov arrived in St. Petersburg from Ulyanovsk, where they were stored in the regional art museum. One of the paintings delivered to the Russian Museum from the Ulyanovsk collection, “Bonfire in the Field”, is known for being awarded the State Prize named after Repin. The picture received the award after the death of the artist.
The exhibition "Soil and Fate" is dedicated to the anniversary of the artist - 120 years have passed since the birth of Arkady Plastov. The International Assembly "Plast Autumn" is dedicated to this date. The publication of the catalog of works by the Plastov dynasty of artists has been prepared for the opening.
The exhibition is waiting for visitors until November 4th.
