VORONEZH. Museum them. Kramskoy on August 21 presents a joint project with the Tretyakov Gallery - the exhibition "Decoration of the Beautiful." At the exhibition it will be possible to get acquainted with the work of contemporary artists, painters, belonging to the Russian avant-garde of the early twentieth century, as well as works made in the style of primitivism.

Many of these works last year were participants in the eponymous exhibition at the Tretyakov Gallery. In addition to works brought from the capital, the exhibition also includes works by Voronezh artists from the collections of the Museum named after Kramskoy.

The placement of paintings at the exhibition is not accidental - the exposition is structured in such a way that the works of contemporary artists can be compared with classical works written in the first half of the last century. The painting of folk craftsmen who performed their work on ordinary oilcloth is adjacent to real kitsch of the middle of the last century.

The creator and curator of the “Decoration of the Beautiful” exhibition, an absolutely brilliant project, is Kirill Svetlyakov, who heads the department of the latest trends in the Tretyakov Gallery. This project originates from the traditions of the Russian avant-garde and exhibitions held in the late eighties by the Art or Death Partnership.

The day after the official opening, in the evening of August 22, Kirill Svetlyakov will give everyone a tour of the exhibition, as well as tell in detail about the history of the creation of his project.

The display in the Voronezh Museum of this unique project takes place as part of the Chernozem 2013 festival, dedicated to contemporary art. It is obvious that the exhibition “Decoration of the Beautiful” will become one of the brightest festival events.

The exhibition exposition awaits visitors until September 8th.
